The abduction of Nelson Adepoyigi, All Progressives Congress (APC) ward chairman in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, has taken a disturbing turn as two individuals who delivered a negotiated ransom were also kidnapped.

Adepoyigi was abducted around 10 p.m. on Monday while parking his car at his home in Ifon.

His captors initially demanded N100 million but later agreed to accept N5 million and food items. However, the two individuals sent to deliver the ransom—Bayode Loco and Isimeri—were also seized.

Sources revealed that the kidnappers have now demanded a fresh N30 million for the release of all three hostages.

“Those who took the ransom, as agreed, were held by the kidnappers, who then demanded N30 million to free them,” a local source said under anonymity.

Chairman of Ose Local Government, Hon. Kolapo Oja, confirmed the earlier negotiation and expressed deep concern over the new development.

He urged the public to remain calm as security efforts continue.

The incident has heightened anxiety among the victims’ families and political associates, who continue to call for their safe release.
