American R&B singer Chris Brown has been remanded in custody by a UK court until June 13 in connection with an alleged assault that occurred at a London nightclub in 2023.

Brown, 36, was arrested early Thursday at a Manchester hotel and later charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

The alleged incident took place on February 19, 2023, at a venue in Hanover Square, London.

Reports from The Sun indicate Brown is accused of attacking music producer Abe Diaw with a bottle at Tape nightclub in Mayfair.

On Friday, Brown appeared before Manchester Magistrates’ Court, where District Judge Joanne Hirst denied his bail request.

A plea and trial preparation hearing is scheduled at Southwark Crown Court on June 13.

The court’s decision puts Brown’s upcoming European tour in question, including performances in the Netherlands on June 8 and Germany on June 11.

Known for hits like “Kiss Kiss”, Brown’s career has been marked by ongoing legal troubles.

He was convicted in 2009 of assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna and has since faced multiple accusations involving violence, including a 2012 nightclub altercation involving Drake’s entourage and a 2014 assault on a fan in Washington.

Despite his legal history, Brown has maintained a significant global following, with millions of records sold and multiple awards, including two Grammys.
