The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has refuted claims that Monday’s explosion near the Nyanya area of Abuja was the result of a suicide bombing.
Speaking on Wednesday during a project inspection in the capital, Wike explained that the incident involved a civilian who unknowingly transported explosive materials from a quarry site.
The materials detonated, causing the explosion.
He emphasized that there was no indication of a terrorist act, urging the public to disregard false reports circulating online.
