The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays in observance of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha (Eid-el-Kabir) celebration.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement released on Monday on behalf of the government.
Tunji-Ojo extended his congratulations to all Muslims in Nigeria and abroad, urging the faithful to reflect the values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him).
He also encouraged Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for national peace, unity, and prosperity.
“The minister assured Nigerians that the people-focused reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration are aimed at putting the country back on the path of progress,” the statement read.
While wishing the Muslim community a joyful Eid-ul-Adha, Tunji-Ojo called on all citizens to support the administration’s efforts to rebuild and uplift the nation.
