The Nigeria Police Force has extended the deadline for compliance with the Tinted Glass Permit requirement to August 12, 2025.
This decision follows widespread feedback from the public.
Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, announced the extension in a statement released on Saturday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
He noted that the extension aims to create a more accessible and citizen-friendly application process.
The police stated that the move is part of ongoing technical and policy reviews designed to improve the permit system.
These reviews include updates to both physical and digital application procedures to ensure faster verification and fewer delays.
“The voices of Nigerians have not been ignored,” the statement emphasized.
“They have played a key role in shaping efforts to make the process more secure, user-friendly, and accessible to all.”
Citizens are advised to apply for or renew their permits only through the official portal.
The Police also urged the public to report any cases of extortion or unauthorized charges during the process.
Reaffirming its commitment to public safety and digital innovation, the Nigeria Police Force called for continued public cooperation as reforms continue.
