The Federal Government has officially launched a digital portal for the upcoming Nigeria Youth Conference, also known as the National Youth Confab.
The initiative is designed to engage young Nigerians in meaningful discussions on national policy and development.
Minister of Youth Development, Ayode Olawande, announced the launch on Monday, describing the event as “more than just a conference,” calling it “a generational turning point, a national movement, and a call to action.”
President Bola Tinubu first revealed plans for the 30-day Youth Confab during his Independence Day address on October 1, 2024. The conference is scheduled to take place in February 2025.
Although the idea was introduced in October, it was not until March 10, 2025, that President Tinubu inaugurated a 44-member Planning Committee at the State House in Abuja to begin organizing the event.
Themed “Next Gen Nigeria: Crafting Solutions, Owning the Future,” the conference is intended to be inclusive, non-partisan, and youth-led.
According to Olawande, the newly launched portal will allow delegates to register, participate in discussions, and receive real-time updates throughout the conference.
The Confab will involve multiple levels of participation, including engagement with young Nigerians in the diaspora, constituency-level consultations across all 360 Federal constituencies, zonal consultations in six states, and a final national conference in Abuja to consolidate and harmonize recommendations.
More updates are expected in the coming days.
