Lagos State University (LASU) has emerged as the most sought-after institution by admission seekers, overtaking the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), according to new data released by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) during its ongoing policy meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.
UNILORIN had consistently maintained the top spot for several years, largely due to its reputation for academic stability and minimal disruption from strikes.
However, the latest figures show a shift in preference among Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates.
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) now ranks second with 58,645 applicants, while UNILORIN follows in third place with 56,758 applicants.
Further details are expected to be released soon.
