Voting has commenced at Polling Unit 007, located within St. Stephens Nursery and Primary School, Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island—where Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is expected to cast his vote.
The exercise, which began at 8 a.m., is part of the ongoing local government elections across Lagos State to elect chairmen and councillors.
Officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) arrived at the polling unit on time to kick off the process.
Governor Sanwo-Olu’s media aide, Jubril Gawat, was among the early voters at the polling unit.
Security operatives, including police officers, were present to ensure order and safety during the voting process.
The election is taking place across all 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas of the state.
