Femi Oladele, popularly known as Tallex, the prime suspect in the murder of two students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), has died under mysterious circumstances shortly after confessing to the crime.
Oladele, who was the landlord of the victims—Andrew Eloho Okah and John Friday Abba—was arrested by operatives of the Ondo State Police Command in Akungba.
According to police investigations, he allegedly orchestrated the attack by directing a cult group to kill the students over a disagreement reportedly tied to disrespect.
Shortly after his confession, Oladele reportedly became ill and died while receiving treatment in police custody. A source familiar with the case said his health deteriorated immediately after his admission of guilt and he died in the hospital.
Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the death, stating that the suspect had been under regular medical supervision since his arrest.
“Yes, he is dead. He had been receiving treatment and was in and out of the hospital. He passed away yesterday,” Ayanlade said.
He also confirmed that the decomposed body of Andrew Okah had been recovered, while the remains of John Abba were still missing.
Ayanlade urged the public to ignore circulating false reports and assured that the police would pursue justice to its full extent.
