The House of Representatives has officially commenced its annual two-month recess, with legislative activities set to resume on September 23.
The motion for adjournment was moved, seconded, and unanimously approved by members during Wednesday’s plenary session at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.
Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, made the announcement, noting that the recess is part of the National Assembly’s legislative calendar.
He urged lawmakers to use the break to engage with their constituents, address community concerns, and oversee ongoing federal projects in their respective districts.
The recess provides an opportunity for lawmakers to focus on constituency duties, oversight responsibilities, and personal matters.
