The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old woman, Augustina Mowarin, for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Michael Ikuedowoni, to death in Okitipupa, following a dispute reportedly linked to accusations of infidelity.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Lawal Adebowale, who confirmed the incident over the weekend in Akure, said the fatal attack occurred on July 27, 2025, but was not immediately reported to the authorities.
According to the police, Ikuedowoni, aged 25, succumbed to his injuries at Omosanya Private Hospital.
Upon receiving information about the incident, officers intervened to prevent a possible mob attack on the suspect. Mowarin was subsequently moved from Okitipupa to Irele Police Division and has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Akure for further investigation.
CP Adebowale stated that the command has launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, and the suspect will be prosecuted accordingly.
