‘Beautiful Outing’ — Ex-Ondo Rep Lauds YemieFash Online News

A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ade Adeogun, has commended the organisers of the recently held Interactive Session & Dinner hosted by YemieFash Online News Platform, describing the event as one of the best he has ever attended in Ondo State.

Adeogun made the remarks in a Facebook post shared on his verified handle and sighted by YFON, where he praised the platform for putting together an evening that combined engaging dialogue, thoughtful reflection, and genuine inspiration.

The former lawmaker, who represented Akoko South-East/South-West Federal Constituency, admitted that he had become reluctant to honour invitations to youth-organised events in Ondo State due to previous disappointments.

“I stopped honouring invitation to attend events organized by the youths in Ondo State due to my experience. I have attended events where even the organizers didn’t plan to attend. The language is simple. They aren’t sometimes interested in your appearance but what you have got to offer. I rather support than waste the time that I don’t have,” he wrote.

He revealed that it took the personal invitation of Hon. Tomide Akinribido to reconsider his stance.

Adeogun said he made the trip by road due to the absence of available flights, driven by the respect he has for the former Ondo lawmaker.

“For the respect that I have for Hon Tomide, I chose to attend. I had to beat the no flight impediment on a return date to come by road. I was hoping the event would start as planned to probably enable me leave same day to catch up with an important appointment the following day.”

He acknowledged that his earlier fears were put to rest as the event turned out to be well-organised, drawing in what he described as a “gathering of serious-minded people who truly mean business.”

“To be honest, I give it to the organizers. The event remains one of the best I have ever attended in Ondo State… it was a great gathering of serious-minded people who truly mean business. I celebrate YemieFash Online News for that beautiful outing.”

Reflecting on the importance of discipline and timing, Adeogun, who referenced his background as the son of a cocoa farmer, noted the value of proper planning, especially among young people seeking to lead.

“In my training, time means everything. Every strategy works with time. While it’s futile to do the right thing at the wrong time, it’s also counter-productive to do the wrong things at the right time. As a trained son of a cocoa farmer, every strike is timed and that’s why the blacksmith hits the iron to effect a desired shape only when it’s hot.”

He concluded with a note of hope, expressing optimism that the younger generation will rise to the challenge when truly prepared.

“I agree that young people can take over only when they are ready. May their time come.”
