Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Mr. Bayo Ojulari, resumed work on Monday, putting to rest widespread rumours of his resignation.
Ojulari arrived at the NNPC Towers around 9:35 a.m. and immediately settled into his official engagements, a top security source told Vanguard.
The source confirmed that operations at the NNPC headquarters remained business as usual, adding that staff had received an internal memo urging them to disregard reports circulating on social media claiming Ojulari had stepped down.
“This is purely speculation,” the source said. “The GCEO is at work, carrying out his duties.”
As of press time, neither the NNPC management nor Ojulari had issued a formal statement addressing the rumour.
However, the swift resumption of duties appears to signal continuity at the helm of the national oil company.
