The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has eliminated more than 400 armed bandits in a coordinated air and ground operation on Makakkari Forest, Zamfara State.
Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Vice Marshal Ehimen Ejodame, said in a statement on Monday that the operation, conducted on Sunday under Operation Fasan Yamma, followed intelligence reports tracking the movement of the bandits who were preparing to attack a farming community.
“Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance confirmed the movement of over 400 bandits.
Precision airstrikes and ground assaults neutralised several notorious kingpins and scores of their fighters,” Ejodame stated.
He described the synergy between NAF and ground troops as “exceptional,” noting that the offensive dealt a major blow to criminal networks in the region.
