The Office of the Deputy Governor of Ondo State has dismissed media reports alleging a political rift between Deputy Governor Dr. Olayide Adelami and Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
In a statement on Monday, Press Secretary John Paul Akinduro described the report published by Sahara Reporters as “blatant falsehood,” insisting that both leaders enjoy a cordial working relationship marked by mutual respect.
Akinduro said claims that the deputy governor was denied access to his official lodge and forced to stay in a “ramshackle hotel” were unfounded.
He explained that Governor Aiyedatiwa had ordered renovations on the lodge shortly after assuming office, and the facility is now ready for use.
“Dr. Adelami has consistently expressed loyalty to his principal and speaks glowingly of the governor’s commitment to democratic ideals,” the statement read.
The deputy governor’s office urged political detractors to desist from spreading “tales of division and hatred” and instead support the state government’s development agenda.
