The United States government has reiterated that all visa applicants must provide details of their social media activity over the past five years.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the U.S. Mission in Nigeria explained that applicants are required to list every username or handle they have used across all social media platforms within that period on the DS-160 visa application form.

The Mission stressed that applicants certify the accuracy of the information provided before signing and submitting the form.

It further warned that withholding social media details could lead to visa denial and render the applicant ineligible for future visa applications.

“Visa applicants are required to list all social media usernames or handles of every platform they have used from the last 5 years on the DS-160 visa application form. Applicants certify that the information in their visa application is true and correct before they sign and submit. Omitting social media information could lead to visa denial and ineligibility for future visas,” the Mission wrote.
