Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has reinstated Taiwo Olatunbosun as Commissioner for Information, just a week after dissolving the State Executive Council.
The recall was confirmed in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, dated August 18, 2025.
The letter stated that Olatunbosun, a former Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, would “continue to function as Commissioner for Information” with immediate effect.
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Olayinka Oyebode, also issued a statement on Monday announcing the development.
Oyebanji had dissolved the cabinet on August 11, directing commissioners and special advisers to hand over to senior civil servants in their respective ministries.
Six commissioners, including those in charge of Finance, Works and Human Capital Development, were however retained to ensure continuity in key sectors.
At the time, the governor explained that the shake-up was intended to inject fresh energy into governance and reinforce his administration’s “shared prosperity” agenda.
