Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has expressed concern over the recurring cases of missing children from Northern Nigeria being traced to Anambra State.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Sani noted that published reports over the years have consistently shown that many abducted or stolen children from the North were later discovered in Anambra.
“The reports published over the years had shown that most of the children stolen or missing in Northern states ended up or were mostly found in Anambra State,” he wrote.
The former lawmaker urged Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, to intensify efforts to dismantle what he described as a criminal syndicate behind the trend.
“Governor Soludo should crack down on this syndicate allegedly involved in these criminal activities,” Sani stated.
He warned that the situation has become a long-standing menace that threatens families across the country, stressing the need for stronger action by security agencies in collaboration with state governments.
According to him, dismantling such networks is crucial to combating child trafficking and restoring public confidence.
