Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has criticised Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over the circulation of alleged compromising photos of his son, Oseloka, on social media.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Omokri condemned the act as wrong and unacceptable in a decent society.
He urged those behind the publication to delete the images and called on the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) to assist in removing them from the internet.
However, Omokri referenced a May 2025 incident in which Obi accused President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, of abducting and brutalising a student leader, Atiku Abubakar Isah.
He noted that the allegation later proved false after Isah publicly apologised, admitting his claims were politically motivated.
“Yet, Peter Obi never apologised for spreading those lies against the younger Tinubu,” Omokri said, accusing the former Anambra governor of hypocrisy.
While stressing that Oseloka’s private life should not be politicised, Omokri said Obi had “opened the gate” by previously targeting the President’s son.
He added that Obi’s supporters, known as “Obidients,” should recognise that public attacks affect families on all sides.
“Oseloka Obi is not the only one with feelings.
Seyi Tinubu also has feelings and gets hurt when people like Oseloka’s father spread malicious lies against him,” Omokri stated.
He nonetheless apologised to Oseloka “on behalf of unruly Nigerians” who circulated the photos, while advising the younger Obi to caution his father about the consequences of involving politicians’ children in political disputes.
