The Abia State Police Command has arrested a suspect, identified as Emeka Edwin Chukwuma from Umuchu in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, in connection with a stolen vehicle.

Police spokesperson, Maureen Chinaka, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, noting that operatives of the command’s Scorpion Squad recovered a Toyota Highlander SUV with registration number BBR667RM during the operation.

According to the statement, the vehicle had been reported stolen in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, in 2022, before intelligence revealed it was moved to Abia. Acting on the tip-off, police operatives tracked and apprehended Chukwuma on August 22, 2025.

“The complainant has been contacted to aid in verifying the originality and ownership of the recovered vehicle.

Meanwhile, further investigations are ongoing,” the statement added.
