Former Zamfara Central Senator, Kabiru Marafa, has vowed to cut at least one million votes from President Bola Tinubu’s tally in the 2027 general elections.
Marafa recalled how Governor Dauda Lawal, a political newcomer before 2023, unseated established heavyweights in Zamfara, including former governors and lawmakers, riding on widespread anger against the All Progressives Congress.
He accused President Tinubu of reneging on his pledge to reform the APC’s internal reward system, which he claimed had been entrenched in corruption under the Buhari administration.
“People were not happy with the tail end of Buhari’s government.
He promised that he was going to eradicate the concept of monkey dey work, baboon dey chop. Only for him to entrench it, institutionalise it, and it became the state policy of the APC,” Marafa said.
