The Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Inter-Party Affairs, Fadeshola Ojamomi, has commended former Deputy Governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the November 16, 2024 governorship election, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, for withdrawing his appeal at the Supreme Court.

Ojamomi, in a statement yesterday, described Ajayi’s action as a “rare demonstration of maturity, courage, and sacrifice” that put the peace and progress of Ondo State above partisan considerations.

“This bold step, formally communicated through his letter dated September 16, 2025, to the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, represents a rare demonstration of maturity, courage, and sacrifice in putting the collective peace and progress of Ondo State above partisan considerations. It is a gesture that will resonate positively in our political history and deepen democratic stability,” he said.

He congratulated Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on what he called the “renewed validation of his historic victory across all 18 Local Government Areas,” adding that the verdict reflected the will of God and the collective voice of the people.

Ojamomi stressed that Ajayi’s decision had strengthened the legitimacy of democratic institutions, spared the state needless distractions, and created a more harmonious political atmosphere.

According to him, “For the first time, Ondo State has set a precedent by resolving a post-election dispute peacefully; a clear sign of growing political maturity and a new spirit of inter-party cooperation.”

The aide maintained that the office of the Special Assistant on Inter-Party Affairs would continue to build bridges across political divides, promote dialogue and reconciliation, and ensure inclusiveness in governance.

“I therefore call on all political parties, leaders, and stakeholders to seize this moment to close ranks, heal old wounds, and work together with our amiable Governor and Leader, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in building a state where no one is left behind,” he added.
