Ganduje, Barau rally Kano APC stakeholders behind Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, have mobilised party stakeholders from Kano State to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

The duo, alongside top APC figures, also vowed to reclaim Kano from the ruling New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the next governorship election.

Those at the strategic meeting in Abuja included Minister of State for Housing, Alhaji Abdullahi Atta; Senator Kawu Sumaila; House Appropriations Committee Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar; former Kano Governor, Senator Kabiru Gaya; Sulaiman Bichi; Hon. Mohammed Garba; as well as serving and former federal and state lawmakers, and former commissioners.

Speaking after the closed-door session, Ganduje said the party was united and determined to deliver victory for President Tinubu and the APC in Kano.

He commended the President’s policy reforms, developmental projects, and appointments for indigenes of the state, saying they had further strengthened the APC’s grassroots appeal.

He noted that despite losing the last governorship election, the APC had remained strong in Kano and had continued to attract defections from other political parties, including former legislators, commissioners, and political office holders.

Ganduje urged Kano residents to participate actively in the ongoing voter registration exercise, stressing that voter mobilisation was key to the APC’s plans to reclaim the state in 2027.

Barau, on his part, assured that Kano APC leaders were firmly behind President Tinubu, describing him as a leader who had consistently delivered on the state’s demands, including infrastructure projects and educational institutions.

Hon. Abubakar Bichi also praised Tinubu’s performance in Kano, particularly in road construction, dismissing claims that the President had neglected the North.

The meeting ended with a collective resolution by Kano APC stakeholders to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and campaign efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
