Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has relieved the Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Child Development, Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko, of her appointment.
A government statement issued on Monday confirmed the decision, describing it as part of a minor adjustment in the State Executive Council.
“In that respect, the Honourable Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Child Development, Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko, has been relieved of her appointment with immediate effect.
The governor thanks the honourable commissioner for her services to the state and wishes her success in her future endeavours,” the statement read.
Baban-Takko, who was appointed in 2019 at the start of Governor Mohammed’s first term, had served in the cabinet for six years until her removal.
The statement added that the dismissal takes immediate effect.
