The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has suffered another setback following the resignation of its Director of Media and Publicity, Mr. Leye Igbabo, who stepped down on Tuesday over what he described as deceit and lack of discipline within the party’s ranks.
In his resignation letter dated September 30, 2025, and addressed to the state chairman of the PDP, Igbabo said the party secretariat had become too hostile for him to carry out his duties effectively.
He stated: “It is disheartening to know that the Secretariat has become hostile to effective and efficient performance of my duties as the Director of Media and Publicity.
“I note with pains, utter deceit, huge compromise and gross indiscipline. There is no more sincerity of purpose and under such circumstances, I do not want to be labeled as an incompetent official.”
Igbabo added that continuing in such an environment would only amount to a waste of effort and time, stressing: “Staying in such an unproductive environment amounts to precious waste of time and energy.
“I therefore resign my appointment as the Director of Media and Publicity PDP Ondo State with immediate effect.”
