Gunmen have abducted a road construction worker, identified as Kabiru Bature, along the Kunduru–Kadanya feeder road in Katsina State.
The incident occurred around 7:14 p.m. on Thursday when the assailants ambushed the 35-year-old driver, who was working with Stantech Road Construction Company.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the development in a post on X on Saturday, noting that security forces were swiftly deployed to the area to block escape routes and commence a search-and-rescue operation.
According to Makama, troops have been mobilised to track the kidnappers, who are believed to have fled into a nearby forest.
As of press time, security personnel were continuing efforts to rescue the victim unhurt and apprehend those behind the abduction.
