I won’t abandon ADC secretly – Suswam denies defection rumours

Former Benue State Governor, Senator Gabriel Suswam, has dismissed reports suggesting that he has defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking on Sunday during a visit to the Makurdi residence of Professor Saasongo Nongu, Suswam described the rumours as false and baseless, insisting that he remains a committed member of the ADC.

According to him, it would be “beneath his political stature” to secretly leave the party that has stood by him and his supporters.

“I am too big to dump the ADC in secret. Leaving the party quietly would be the height of disgrace to my personality and a betrayal to my loyalists,” Suswam said.

The former lawmaker reaffirmed his dedication to strengthening the ADC and expanding its influence across Benue State and beyond.

He urged party members to remain united and to support Mzondu, whom he described as a visionary leader capable of advancing the party’s ideals.

In his remarks, Mzondu expressed gratitude to Suswam for his mentorship and unwavering guidance, pledging continued loyalty to him and the ADC.

“Senator Suswam has been a political father to me. His wisdom and leadership have shown me the right path to follow, and I remain loyal to him and the cause of our great party,” Mzondu said.
