Activist and former African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has called on Nigerians to take active steps in pushing for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

In a post shared on his Facebook page on Monday, Sowore urged citizens to “carry a sign, sing a song, make a statement,” stressing the importance of staying engaged in the campaign for Kanu’s freedom.

He wrote: “Good Morning! Wherever you may be this morning do not stop moving, carry a sign, sing a song, make a statement! #FreeNnamdiKanuNow.”

Recall that Sowore had announced that a protest march would take place on October 20, aimed at demanding the release of the IPOB leader.

He described the demonstration as a “historic” march towards the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja, assuring that it would be peaceful and carried out within legal boundaries.
