The Kano State Government has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Inuwa Salisu, the commander of the state’s anti-phone snatching task force, who was murdered in his residence on Tuesday night.

Salisu was buried on Thursday in Sharada, where family members, friends, government officials, and colleagues gathered to pay their final respects.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who attended the funeral alongside senior state officials, described Salisu’s death as a painful loss to Kano’s ongoing efforts to curb street crime.

The late commander was widely commended for his dedication and leadership in tackling phone snatching — a persistent menace in Kano’s metropolitan areas.

Security agencies have begun investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, while the state government has pledged to ensure that those behind the attack are swiftly apprehended and brought to justice.
