A 300-level student of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Chrisantus Chukwuebuka Nwankwo, popularly known as DJ Brownlex, has died in a fatal accident while travelling to attend Davido’s concert in Enugu.

The incident occurred on Saturday night along the Enugu–Onitsha Expressway.

Nwankwo, a student in the Department of Economics, was said to be among several students who boarded a commercial bus heading to the concert venue.

Eyewitnesses said the vehicle left the park late in the evening without functioning headlights and rammed into a stationary trailer on the highway.

The impact reportedly killed DJ Brownlex and the driver on the spot, while other passengers sustained varying degrees of injury.

The injured students were rushed to Shanahan Hospital in Nsukka, where they are currently receiving treatment.

The tragic news has thrown the UNN community into mourning, with students and friends of the deceased flooding social media with tributes describing him as talented, humble, and full of life.

As of press time, the university authorities and the Enugu State Police Command were yet to issue official statements on the incident.
