The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a man, identified as Jeriel Clifford Peter, for allegedly stabbing his 67-year-old wife, Miltha Jeriel, to death in Demsa Local Government Area of the state.
The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday, November 6, 2025, after a disagreement between the couple at a beer parlour turned violent.
During the altercation, Jeriel allegedly attacked his wife with a knife and an axe, inflicting deep cuts on various parts of her body.
The victim was rushed to the hospital but was confirmed dead while receiving treatment. Her remains have been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy.
Police said the suspect has been arrested, while the knife and axe used in the attack were recovered from the scene.
Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Dankombo Morris, condemned the act and directed the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yola to take over the case for thorough investigation and prosecution.
The CP also warned against domestic violence, urging residents to resolve disputes peacefully, while assuring that justice would be served and no offender would escape lawful punishment.
