Justice A. Bello of the Kaduna State High Court has adjourned to December 11, 2025, the trial of a dismissed official of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Polycarp Andrew, who is facing charges for allegedly stealing over ₦22 million from exhibits kept in his custody.

Andrew, a former exhibit keeper at the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the anti-graft agency, was arraigned on six counts bordering on criminal breach of trust.

He was said to have fled Kaduna after the alleged theft but was later traced and arrested in Taraba State.

During Tuesday’s court session, the defendant pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

Prosecution counsel, H.M. Mohammed, told the court that the EFCC was ready to proceed with its case and would be calling two witnesses—an EFCC operative and an official of Opay Bank.

However, defence counsel, D.B. Kwajafa, applied for an adjournment, saying he had only recently received a flash drive containing the video recording of the defendant’s extra-judicial statement and needed time to review its contents.

The prosecution opposed the application, arguing that the flash drive was not relevant to the stage of proceedings.

After listening to both sides, Justice Bello granted the defence’s request and adjourned the matter to December 11, 2025, for hearing.
