Indian authorities have deported a Nigerian national, Onyeukwu Victor, after he allegedly overstayed his student visa and became involved in drug-related activities in Hyderabad.

According to The Times of India, Victor, who arrived in India in 2021 on a student visa, remained in the country despite the expiration of his permit in 2024.

His activities reportedly drew the attention of operatives of the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing, who linked him to a network of drug suppliers operating across Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

He was arrested in the Banjara Hills area, where police said he failed to provide valid immigration documents or justify his prolonged stay in the country.

Although no drugs were found in his possession at the time of his arrest, investigators alleged that he acted as a middleman, facilitating deliveries between suppliers and buyers.

Officials later confirmed that Victor had overstayed his visa, prompting immediate deportation proceedings.

The Hyderabad police subsequently handed him over to immigration authorities, who ensured his removal from the country.
