Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace, have uncovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition during a raid on a suspected gunrunning hub in Fashoron Village, Daffo District, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The operation, carried out on November 13, 2025, followed credible intelligence on the activities of suspected arms dealers.

A statement posted on the force’s verified Facebook page on Friday by the Media Information Officer, Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, said the suspects fled moments before the troops stormed the hideout.

Zhakom disclosed that troops recovered an AK-47 rifle with its magazine, a sub-machine gun, two Dane guns, 42 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, 84 rounds of 9mm ammunition and 20 cartridges. Six mobile phones and N330,000 cash were also seized during the operation.

He added that all items recovered are in military custody as efforts intensify to track and apprehend the fleeing suspects.

The Joint Task Force reiterated its resolve to stamp out criminal networks in Plateau and curb the illegal proliferation of arms across the region.
