The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects in connection with alleged organ harvesting, armed robbery and culpable homicide in different parts of the state.

Commissioner of Police, Shettima Jauro Mohammed, disclosed this on Tuesday while briefing journalists on recent breakthroughs recorded by the command.

He said one of the suspects was apprehended for allegedly engaging in organ trafficking, while nine others were arrested for their roles in multiple robbery attacks across the state.

Mohammed explained that on November 17, operatives from the command responded to a distress call at Yahaya Sabo Motor Park in Lafia, where park officials had detained a man suspected of luring young men into illegal kidney donation.

According to him, police personnel arrived the scene, rescued four victims and took the suspect into custody.

Preliminary investigation revealed the suspect as 40-year-old Maro Ebojoh, who allegedly travelled from Delta State to Lafia on November 14 in search of kidney donors for an illegal transplant.

“The suspect lured his victims with a promise of ₦2 million payment after the procedure.

One of them who scaled the medical screening was taken to Abuja for the transplant, but it was aborted due to blood pressure concerns,” the CP said.

He added that operatives swiftly moved to Abuja and rescued the victim unhurt.

The rescued victims were identified as Umar Ahmadu Barau, 25; Suleiman Alhaji-Garba, 20; Williams Dadung, 32; and Stanley Ezekiel, 27.

Mohammed further revealed that the suspect confessed to receiving ₦500,000 as upfront payment from a client, adding that he had earlier facilitated a similar deal two months ago.

In a separate operation conducted on November 4, the CP said detectives from Mararaba ‘A’ Division raided a criminal hideout on Musbawu Street, Mararaba, arresting nine suspected gang members linked to several nighttime robberies in the area.

The suspects, aged between 18 and 29, allegedly attacked residents at odd hours, dispossessed them of mobile phones and transferred money from victims’ bank accounts before selling off the stolen devices.

“They also confessed to a fatal robbery on May 20, 2025, at Uke, where they killed the son of a serving police officer,” Mohammed noted.

He said the State Criminal Investigation Department has taken over the case and that the suspects would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.

The commissioner urged residents to be vigilant, particularly against individuals posing as agents for medical donations, and called for public cooperation by reporting suspicious movements promptly.
