The Chairman of Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area in Kebbi State, Hussaini Aliyu, has disclosed the full list of 25 schoolgirls abducted from the Maga community.
Aliyu dismissed claims attributed to U.S. lawmaker Riley Moore, which suggested that the incident occurred in a Christian enclave.
He clarified that all the abducted schoolgirls are Muslims, describing the assertion as misleading and capable of stoking unnecessary religious tensions.
He added that the Zuru Emirate, where Maga is located, has a long-standing history of peaceful coexistence and has never witnessed religious crises.
The local government chairman urged the U.S. lawmaker to refrain from making unverified statements that could portray Nigeria negatively or undermine national unity.

Authorities have intensified efforts to secure the release of the remaining abducted students as security agencies continue their operations in the area.
