Prince Emmanuel Kanu, brother of the detained Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu, has raised the alarm over the heavy presence of security operatives at the separatist’s residence.

As reported by Daily Post, Prince Kanu made the disclosure on his official Facebook page on Thursday morning, ahead of the long-awaited judgment in Kanu’s terrorism-related cases. He wrote: “Breaking news! Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s family house is currently surrounded by a large number of security agents. We are alerting the whole world.”

Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja is expected to deliver the ruling today on several applications filed by the Federal Government against Kanu.

Kanu, who has been in custody since 2021, faces seven terrorism-related charges, including alleged incitement, operating an unlawful organisation, and acts deemed to threaten national security.

The developments have heightened tension and uncertainty in parts of the South-East, with residents expressing apprehension over possible unrest.
