Falz tackles Tinubu over rescue of 38 Kwara worshippers, demands accountability

Nigerian rapper and rights advocate, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has faulted the federal government’s handling of the aftermath of the rescue of 38 abducted members of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke Isegun, Eruku, in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Falz, in a post on his X handle on Sunday, questioned the absence of information on the fate of the criminals responsible for the abduction, insisting that details on arrests or neutralisation should accompany any announcement of rescue.

He wrote: “THIS DOES NOT CUT IT. Where are the abductors?? Were they killed? How many arrests were made???”

The rapper’s remarks came shortly after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu disclosed that security agencies had successfully rescued the 38 worshippers, alongside 51 of the schoolchildren abducted from a Catholic school in Niger State.

The President had praised the security forces for what he described as coordinated and strategic interventions across the two North Central states, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to protecting Nigerians’ lives and property.

Falz, however, maintained that the government must go beyond rescue operations and provide transparency on the pursuit and prosecution of those behind such attacks.
