A senior clergyman in Plateau State, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has raised the alarm over a renewed threat by Boko Haram terrorists allegedly targeting him.
Rev. Dachomo, the Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, said the insurgents have placed a bounty on his head, offering a reward to anyone who tracks him down.
In a video circulated on social media on Thursday, the outspoken cleric claimed the latest threat was linked to his unrelenting campaign against what he describes as ongoing genocide, as well as his frequent exposure of attacks, killings, and mass burials of Christians in the region.
According to him, his stance and public advocacy have made him a target, but he maintained that he would not be deterred from speaking out against the violence.
Authorities are yet to respond officially to the cleric’s claims, but the development has raised fears among Christian communities in Plateau State, who say his revelations highlight the daily realities they face amid rising insecurity in the North Central region.
