Former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, on Monday evening held a closed-door engagement with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Our correspondent spotted Musa arriving at the State House at 7:03pm, where he was escorted into the President’s office wing by a senior security official.
The former defence chief, who appeared in a dark-green northern-style outfit with elbow-length sleeves, is meeting the President publicly for the first time since his retirement on October 24, 2025.
The purpose of the visit was not disclosed by either party, fuelling curiosity within security circles.
Musa’s meeting comes at a time of renewed anxiety over rising insecurity in parts of the North.
Recent incidents including the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi, the attack on worshippers in Eruku, Kwara State, and the kidnapping of Catholic schoolchildren in Minna have prompted intensified counter-terrorism and anti-kidnapping operations across the North-West and North-Central.
