Fear has gripped residents of Danjibga community in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State after armed bandits killed three people on Wednesday evening following a disagreement over the payment for a yoghurt drink.

Details of the attack were shared on X by security analyst Bakatsine on Thursday, shedding light on how a minor confrontation escalated into a deadly assault.

According to Bakatsine, the attack started after a group of bandits walked into a local shop and attempted to take Rufaida Yoghurt worth ₦3,500 without paying.

When the shop owner insisted on payment, the men reportedly became angry, dropped the goods, and left.

Bakatsine said the group returned less than an hour later with weapons and opened fire, killing three people.

“Yesterday evening in the Danjibga community of Tsafe LGA, Zamfara State, a group of bandits entered a local shop and attempted to take Rufaida Yoghurt worth ₦3,500 without paying.

“When the shop owner insisted on payment, the group became angry, abandoned the yoghurt and left.

“Less than an hour later, they returned armed, fired shots, killed three people, forced residents to flee, and looted the shop,” he wrote.

The incident has heightened tension in the community, with residents reportedly fleeing the area for safety.

Authorities had yet to comment on the attack at the time of filing this report.
