A naming ceremony in Kwata Village, Warji Local Government Area of Bauchi State, turned tragic as a 20-year-old guest, Haruna Haruna, died following a violent altercation.
The incident was made public by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who issued a statement on X on Thursday detailing how a disagreement among youths at the event escalated into a deadly fight.
According to him, the incident occurred on Tuesday when an argument among some youths reportedly degenerated into a violent scuffle, leaving Haruna unconscious.
He wrote, “A 20-year-old man, Haruna Haruna of Kwata Village, Warji Local Government Area, Bauchi State, has reportedly died following a violent altercation during a naming ceremony on 2 December 2025.
“Zagazola understands that a misunderstanding among some youths at the ceremony escalated into a physical fight, leaving the victim in a comatose state.”
Haruna was immediately taken to the General Hospital, Warji, but he was confirmed dead while undergoing treatment.
Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakili, were unsuccessful, as he said he was in a meeting and would respond later. He had not done so as of press time.
