The Kano State Police Command has recorded a major breakthrough in its renewed crackdown on vehicle theft and related crimes, recovering seven stolen vehicles and apprehending multiple suspects.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Command’s spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, and made available to reporters.
Kiyawa said the coordinated operations were part of intensified efforts to curb car theft, armed robbery and other criminal activities across the state.
According to the statement: “The Command’s Special Intervention Squad on the direction of the Command CP, worked tirelessly to track down stolen vehicles and apprehend suspects.
“Notable recoveries include a Toyota RAV4, Peugeot 406, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Yaris, a truck, a white Toyota Matrix, and a white Forland truck.”
The spokesman added that several suspects linked to the crimes, including armed robbery, had been arrested.
He noted that the individuals in custody are cooperating with investigators and will be prosecuted accordingly.
