Security operatives in Niger State have recorded a major success in their offensive against armed groups, eliminating more than 40 militants during a coordinated raid on a hideout in Borgu Local Government Area.
The operation, according to a post on X by security analyst Bakatsine, marked a significant stride in ongoing counter-insurgency efforts across the state.
The raid was said to have targeted a camp in the Lakurawa axis, reportedly controlled by a militant commander identified as Amir Tajuddeen.
Bakatsine said the security team stormed the enclave and engaged the fighters in a fierce encounter, resulting in the death of over 40 militants.
“Security forces in Niger State conducted a major operation in Lakurawa hideout camp under the leadership of Amir Tajuddeen in Borgu LGA.
Over 40 armed militants were reportedly killed during the raid.,” Bakatsine wrote.
