The Federal High Court sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, has declined to grant bail to a social media activist, Comrade Ibrahim Kabiru Dallah, in a defamation case instituted against him.
Dallah is facing seven counts bordering on alleged defamatory publications on social media platforms, following a petition by the Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government, Dr. Labaran Shuaibu Magaji, SAN.
The activist, however, denied all the allegations levelled against him.
In its ruling, the court ordered that Dallah be remanded at the Lafia Correctional Centre pending further proceedings in the matter.
The court subsequently adjourned the case to January 21, 2026, for continuation of hearing.
Meanwhile, some activists have renewed calls for fairness and due process in the handling of the case.
