Suspected bandits have attacked Nahuce community in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State, abducting an unspecified number of residents.
The attack was made public by a security analyst, Bakatsine, in a post shared on X on Thursday.
According to the post, the assailants stormed the community late Tuesday night and carried out the abduction before fleeing the area.
Bakatsine said the exact number of victims taken away by the attackers could not be immediately ascertained.
“Yesterday night, armed bandits attacked Nahuce community in Bungudu LGA, Zamfara State, abducting an unknown number of people.
The incident has heightened fear and renewed calls for urgent government action to protect rural communities in the State.
“How long will residents continue to live under the threat of banditry and insecurity in Zamfara State?,” Bakatsine wrote.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Zamfara State Government nor security agencies had issued an official statement on the incident.
