The Senator representint Ondo North, Jide Ipinsagba, has commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for securing the revalidation of the Ondo State Seaport Certificate of Competency, describing the move as a significant step toward economic growth in the state.
The senator, in a statement released on Wednesday, said the achievement underscored the governor’s vision and determination to drive sustainable development and attract investment to Ondo State.
Ipinsagba said the renewed certification would open up wide-ranging opportunities within the maritime sector, noting that it was expected to stimulate employment, boost agro-based exports, improve logistics operations and increase revenue generation.
He added that the development had positioned Ondo State as an emerging maritime hub in the South-West, while congratulating the state government for what he described as a landmark accomplishment.
The lawmaker also extended his congratulations to ambassadors from Ondo State who recently scaled the Senate screening process, including Ambassador Sola Iji, nominated by Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, and career diplomat, Ambassador Rueben Abimbola Samuel.
According to him, their successful screening demonstrated competence and commitment to national service, adding that their appointments would enhance Nigeria’s diplomatic presence and elevate Ondo State’s profile internationally.
Ipinsagba urged stakeholders to lend their support to the initiatives, stressing that sustained collaboration would ensure lasting economic and developmental benefits for the state.
