A Plateau-based cleric, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, on Saturday conducted another mass burial in Ratoso Fan District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, following a deadly attack on the community.
Residents said terrorists invaded the area and opened fire on miners, killing no fewer than 12 people on the spot. Many others were said to be missing after the assault.
At the burial ceremony, captured in a viral video, Dachomo admonished residents to take steps to protect themselves whenever they come under attack.
“You have to defend yourself, we all have the right to survive, do what you can do and God is going to help us”, he said.
The cleric has recently drawn national attention after alleging that Christians in Nigeria are victims of genocide.
Despite pushback from the Presidency and other stakeholders, Dachomo has maintained his position, insisting that Islamic extremists are persecuting Christians and are bent on wiping them out.
