Tragedy struck on Christmas Eve in Akure, Ondo State, as a yet-to-be-identified motorcyclist lost his life in a lone accident along the Gaga axis of Oke Aro.

The incident occurred at about 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday when the middle-aged rider, said to be riding a Hajue Suzuki motorcycle, allegedly lost control while speeding.

Eyewitness accounts indicated that the motorcyclist veered off course, struck his head against a concrete structure and crashed into a drainage.

The impact was described as severe, with the victim reportedly dying on the spot.

Residents and passers-by who rushed to the scene in a bid to render assistance were said to have discovered that the rider had already succumbed to his injuries.

As of the time of filing this report, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, ‘B’ Division, Oke Aro, had arrived at the scene and evacuated the lifeless body. The deceased had yet to be identified by any family member.
