The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday formally received Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, following his defection to the ruling party.
National Chairman of the APC, Nentawe Yilwatda, announced the governor’s entr into the party via a social media post, hailing the move as a significant boost to the party’s expanding political base.
While details of the circumstances that led to Mutfwang’s decision were not immediately made public, the APC leadership described the development as timely and strategic for both the state and the party.
Welcoming the governor on behalf of the National Working Committee and party members nationwide, Yilwatda said Mutfwang’s decision reflected a commitment to progressive governance and service to the people.
He noted that the governor’s registration into the APC symbolised renewed hope and a shared resolve to pursue inclusive development, peace and prosperity in Plateau State.
Yilwatda assured the Plateau governor of the party’s readiness to work closely with him to strengthen the APC and deliver tangible democratic dividends to the people of the state.
Mutfwang’s defection followed his earlier resignation from his former party, amid widespread speculation that he was set to align with the ruling APC.
